The Oklahoma Sooners didn’t perform as well as they would have liked, but the Florida Gators came to play and put the back-to-back defending national champions in an elimination game scenario heading into Tuesday.
It was the first Sooners loss in the NCAA Tournament in three seasons, breaking a 20-game tournament winning streak. It also broke Oklahoma’s 10-game winning streak and Patty Gasso’s undefeated record against former assistants.
But the Sooners live to play another day. Oklahoma will play the Florida Gators on Tuesday at 1 p.m. CT for the right to play the Texas Longhorns in the Women’s College World Series championship. Will the Sooners bounce back, or will the Gators keep Oklahoma out of the championship for the first time since the 2017 season?
