Define vulnerability. How is it determined?
Vulnerability to poverty is a measure which describes the higher probability of certain communities or individuals of becoming or remaining poor in the coming years.
i) It is determined by the available options to various communities for seeking an alternative living in terms of education, health, wealth and employment opportunities.
ii) Analysis of vulnerability is also done on the basis of the higher risks these communities or individuals have to deal with in times of natural calamities.
iii) These vulnerable groups are in fact worst affected ones in the time of a natural disaster when compared to the rest of the population.
