Lights Are Off TikTok Is Finally Getting A Game | The Nexus (2024)

The Lights Are Off TikTok account has announced that there is a video game in development.

Lights Are Off, a creepy 3D animation TikTok account, has amassed a rather large cult following on TikTok, with over 18 million followers, and 343 million likes. The account shares videos of a whole range of unnerving 3D animations, from movies, pop culture, and video games.

Light's Are Off has referenced typical horror influences such as Siren Head, Slender Man, and Pennywise from IT. These include some typical jump scares and horror sequences, although they are still terrifying thanks to the first-person camera, as well as the mix of creepy music and dark lighting.

However, aside from the more traditional horror elements, Lights Are Off has also done a number of traditionally happy figures, ones that have been “horrorfied” before, but not in a way that the TikTok account has managed to display them. Some more noticeable examples include Mickey Mouse, Barney, the Cookie Monster, and Minions. While not always a direct scare, these videos are still incredibly disturbing thanks to the mix of visuals, sound effects, and music.

The 3D animator has now announced that there is also a video game adaptation that is currently in development, and we should expect it sometime this year even. In the announcement video, we see a path leading to a set of gates with the words “Lights Are Off Video Game Anomaly Zoo”, while a giant, creepy figure rises behind the gates. As the creature reveals itself in the light, we see that its eyes and teeth are missing, with a humongous smile across its face.

This is not the first time that the animator has delved into the world of video games, albeit, in that they have created videos based on video games already released. Two notable videos include the Leviathan from SubNautica, as well as SCP-096 Not much else is shared in what we can expect, but we suspect that more information will come as we get closer to the launch. No exact launch date has been announced, stating only that we should expect this year.
